There’s many ways to celebrate your birthday, but what if you give your birthday to your favorite charity? Asking for donations for a special cause on your birthday is amazing! It’s a selfless way to celebrate your birthday, and in turn, you will benefit a cause you feel strongly about.

Give Your Birthday to Charity birthday hat and confetti

You can ask for donations for charity on your birthday by using Facebook. Most Facebook users list their birthdays on the platform. Facebook will give you a notification when it’s one of your friends’ birthdays, so you don’t forget!

Asking for donations for your birthday on Facebook is very simple. All you have to do is go to the top of your Facebook feed, where you would normally create a post. Click on the little dots, and Facebook will give you a few options with what you can do with your post. Choose “support nonprofit” and get started!

If you want to ask for donations for your birthday, then there are a few details you will need to decide.

1. What nonprofit do you want to raise money for?

This is very important! Maybe you have a few charities or nonprofits that you support, and you’re not sure which one to choose. If this is the case, take some time to figure out which one needs the most support at this particular time. That will help you make your decision.

2. How much money do you want to raise?

When you create your post asking for donations, Facebook will ask you how much money you want to raise. Answering that question will help you know when you reach your goal. It will also give your friends an incentive to keep donating.

3. When do you want your fundraiser to end?

Most people post their fundraiser for a few days before ending it. So, keep your fundraiser posted for your birthday, and then one or two days afterward. This will give people time to donate. Not everyone goes on Facebook every day. If some people see your post the day after your birthday, they will still get the chance to make a donation.

4. Write a title and short description for your fundraiser

You will definitely want to have a title and a short description of why you want to raise money for your cause. If you explain why then your friends will understand and will be more likely to donate.

In conclusion…

Asking for donations on your birthday is a wonderful thing to do. By doing so, you will spread positivity and hope in today’s darker world.
