How to Set Up a TripAdvisor Account

TripAdvisor is a great website to use when you want to figure out what to do when you are on vacation. But, it has other benefits as well. As a business owner, you can reach out to potential customers to let them know what you have to offer them. Using TripAdvisor gives you free word-of-mouth advertising that can help bring in business. It also offers a way for people to easily rate and review your business for free. It links right to your website, and it offers transparency for your business. Keep reading to learn about how to set up a TripAdvisor account for your business.
Before you can set up and use TripAdvisor as a marketing tool for your company, you need to create a personal account with them. This process is easy. All you need to do is click on the “Join” link, which you can find in the top right corner of their website’s homepage. Then, follow the prompts.
Search for Your Business
Anyone can create a business profile on TripAdvisor. So, you need to make sure your business has not been listed by someone else. This step is crucial for ensuring no one has posted any negative or untrue information about your company. To search for your business, simply type your company’s name in the search field on the “Find and Claim Your Business” page. Try a few different combinations to make sure nothing is posted under something similar. Do not forget to include your location to eliminate businesses with similar names that are in other parts of the world. If you do not find your business on TripAdvisor, you can proceed with creating a new listing at https://www.tripadvisor.com.au/GetListedNew.
Claim Your Listing
If you find a listing for your business that was not created by you, scroll down to the bottom of the listing to the “Owners: What’s Your Side to the Story” section. Then, click on “Manage Your Listing”. Follow the directions to access the Management Center. Once there, click on “Manage Listing” and follow the prompts for updating your contact and location information. You will also be able to upload images to your listing in this section.
Manage and Respond to Customer Reviews
Once TripAdvisor has sent you confirmation about your listing, you can access the Management Centre and reply to the reviews people have posted. All you need to do is click on the “Respond to Reviews” tab. Keep in mind that although you can respond to every review, you cannot delete them.
Check for Your Listing
Download TripAdvisor’s mobile app to make it easier to access. Do a search for your business by entering your company’s name in the search field. Also, do a search by location to see if users can easily find your business that way, too. If you cannot find your business, go back into the Management Center and make any necessary adjustments.
