First impressions are everything, especially on social media. You need to have the right Instagram look or aesthetic. Often times, the first time a viewer hears of your business is through social media. In fact, 60% of Instagram users first hear about a product on Instagram. 66% of visits to business profiles are from users that don’t already follow the business. By creating the right look for your Instagram page, you will draw more attention from new users. You might even gain new followers with the right aesthetic.

Finding Your Instagram Aesthetic

Instagram is a great way for a business to find their creative side. You can speak to the public through photos and videos with Instagram. To find your brand’s “look”, there are a few things to consider:

1. Find your “Why”

You need to tell a story.

First, you have to think about what you want to portray to your followers and viewers. What do you want your audience to know? What do you want them to get from your page? Instagram, gives your business a chance to tell a story to viewers and followers. What’s your story?

2. Choose your theme

After you figure out what you want to portray to your followers, you need to figure out how. A successful Instagram page is cohesive with an obvious theme. Some businesses choose a theme of bright, bold, and colorful photos. Others have a theme of black and white photos to give off a dark, moody vibe. If you want a clean look for your business, try a white theme. To achieve this look, take your photos in front of white backgrounds or walls. It will make the photo look crisp, clean, and focused. If your business logo has a statement color, try creating a theme around it. For instance, if the color of your business is pink, create a pink aesthetic. Add pops of the same color throughout your posts for consistency. Regardless of what Instagram aesthetic and theme you choose, make it consistent! It will help improve your aesthetic.

3. Photos and filters

Professional photos are everything on Instagram. A business profile should have professional photographs that are clear and focused. They should draw the attention of your followers. The filters and edits used for your photos are as important as the actual photo. 60% of the top brands on Instagram use the same filter on each picture. Lightroom is an excellent editing tool to brighten, contrast, and filter your photos. It will make them look more appealing on social media.

Create your business profile today!

Although the perfect Instagram aesthetic is very important, make sure you have personality. Above all, have fun with it! Share your story through Instagram to connect with your viewers and followers. Social media is a great way to express your brand’s creativity and passion.
