Twitter gets 800 million visitors every month. That’s a lot.
Video engagement has never been higher, so adding social videos to your Twitter content is a great way to engage with your followers and attract new clients. Here are a few tips to optimize your Twitter videos.
1. Upload native video to Twitter.
Sharing a link to a video on YouTube is an easy way to go, but uploading video directly to Twitter (called “native video”) has its perks. Native video will autoplay in your follower’s feed, so you don’t have to worry about them clicking on the link. These videos will also stay in your photo/video library, so followers can still easily find it later if they miss it in their feed.
2. Optimize for the Twitter video format.
Twitter will allow you 2 minutes and 20 seconds of max video time, but you’re probably better off keeping it under a minute unless you have a great reason to go longer (in terms of your viewer’s attention span). Also, it’s helpful to know that if your video is under 6.5 seconds, it will loop automatically (Vine-style). When you’re posting your Twitter video, include a brief, catchy description and remember to include a few relevant hashtags to help more people find your great video.
3. Take advantage of the opportunity to engage with your ideal clients.
A Twitter stats analysis from earlier this year found that 82% of Twitter users interact with brands on this social media platform [1]. That means your brand has a huge opportunity to interact with followers and generate interest in your brand and company on Twitter. A video is a great way to grab your viewer’s attention and then teach them something, show them a new product, or just give them a sense of your cool company.
Adding Twitter video to your Social Media Marketing plan is a great way to increase engagement with your followers and promote your brand. Not enough hours in the day? We offer Social Media Marketing services and would be happy to assist you.
