February 22, 2022

A Deeper Look

A social media audit is an analysis of a person or company’s social media presence. It is a way to take a deep look into your social media accounts and presence. An audit analyzes your content by looking at and analyzing several factors.

  • How well each post performed
  • What times were more popular
  • Who you’re following
  • Who follows you

These are some of the details an audit looks at, but an audit will see and tell you a lot more.

A social media audit allows you to reflect on your past social media presence. Then you can plan for your future presence. Which brings us to the next question; why do you need to do it?

The Importance of an Audit

Doing an audit is a great way to reflect. Looking at your past content and where your social media presence is now, is a great way to plan for the future. Look at old content to see what posts performed well. Likes, comments, and reach are good indicators of how well the post performed. Social media channels like Instagram and Facebook give you insights into each post.

These include:

  • Likes
  • Comments
  • How many people the post reached
  • How many actions people took after seeing the post

This will also show how engaged your audience is. See what posts did well, and what posts didn’t do well. It will allow you to create future content more geared towards audience interest. Make a note of the times and days you posted in the past. Find any patterns of posts that did well with the times and days they went out.

What to Do Next

After you perform your social media audit, you may think, “now what?”. After you analyze your social media, it is time to come up with a plan. Create more content based on the content that did well in the past. Take inspiration from that content and propel it into future posts.

Be consistent and post on the times and days that did well. This allows your account to continue to perform well and grow. Your audience will show their appreciation by interacting with more of your content!
