Getting traffic to your website is only half the battle. You also need to focus on what visitors do once they arrive. To have a successful business, you need conversions. To get people to sign up for your email list, buy something or fill out a contact form, you need a website that works. There are different ways you can encourage people to take the action you want when they get to your website. Here are 5 tips to increase your website’s conversion rates.
1. Make sure to have a call-to-action, or CTA, button on every page
It’s important to inspire conversions on every page of your website; not only on landing pages. You need to tell website visitors what to do rather than assume they will figure it out on their own. By giving people a course of action, you’re likely to see more results. But remember their design. You should use a button instead of a text link. When used correctly, CTAs boost clicks by up to 45 percent. A 3D effect or strategic color contrast can also make it pop off the page to inspire further interest.
If you put a call-to-action in your emails, you can increase clicks by 371 percent. Facebook pages are helpful as well. If you have a call-to-action on your Facebook page, you can see a click-through rate increase of 285 percent.
2. Use videos
While images are a great way to gain attention, videos are even better. Make sure to include both on your website to draw in visitors. Videos can also increase website conversions if you include ones that show how to use your product or other information about your services.
3. Have a professional website
While building your own website may seem a more affordable idea, you need to have a professional look. This is harder than you might think. There is a large learning curve when it comes to web design, so you may be putting more time into it over the long term than you think. Consider a professional when it comes to your website, but be sure to ask the right questions before signing a contract.
4. Make it mobile-friendly
Your website must be accessible on mobile devices. Most people browse the Internet on their phones. You can’t have your website not work well on a mobile platform and expect good results.
5. Include testimonials and reviews
People are more receptive to trying your product or service if you include reviews. These will help encourage visitors to make a move. Testimonials also reduce risk and provide genuine proof of your abilities.
