1. Set-up your business account

The first thing you need to do is set-up an Instagram business account. There are some steps you need to complete. You can either start a business account from scratch or convert a personal account. Convert your personal account if it already has a strong following with brand-appropriate content. If not, you should start from scratch.

After getting your account set-up, work on your profile. For your bio, make sure to use your brand voice and hashtags. Use line breaks to make it easier to read. For your picture, make sure to use the same one you use across your brand, so it’s recognizable. Usually, this is your logo. You should also make sure to include all your business information. Also, use business profile features.

2. Define your Instagram strategy

You need to define your strategy so you know what to post. Make sure you know who your target audience is. Then, know what you want to do and set specific goals.

You want to grow and interact with your audience. Part of this is making sure to post on a regular basis. Be sure to respond to comments as well. Consistency in posting and responding creates dependability for your business.

3. Share awesome content

To help build your following, you need to share interesting content. Define what types of visuals you will be sharing based on the nature of your business. Make sure that the look of your Instagram is consistent with your logo and colors. Figure out what photos make the most sense for your type of business. And don’t forget to use hashtags!

4. Track metrics and make adjustments

Know what posts are getting the most interest. By tracking metrics, you will see how your progress matches your goals. There are a variety of analytics tools that can help you get things sorted out and organized.
